About Vena Cava
Vena Cava is known as the “funky” vineyard of Valle de Guadalupe. It considers itself boutique and takes pride in its quality over quantity approach to winemaking. The vineyard is sustainable and the wines they produce are all organic. Aside from being green, the vineyard is just straight up cool. There are outdoor picnic tables under a nautical, net-like tent and both an indoor and outdoor bar (the indoor bar & cellar is where tastings take place). Sometimes there is a food truck and sometimes there is a DJ playing awesome tunes.
The most iconic part about the vineyard, however, is its architecture. Continuing with the sustainable theme, Vena Cava is built with recycled boats, specifically the roof. There are a few refurbished boats acting as the shelter for the vineyard & tasting room. It’s extremely unique and worth a visit to sip on some great wine while observing the one-of-a-kind architecture. The vineyard is also apart of a larger group, Grupo la Villa del Valle, owned by Eileen and Phil Gregory. Other establishments you’ll find in Grupo la Villa del Valle are hotel La Villa del Valle and restaurant Corazon de Tierra.
